Thomas asks…

Which is better picture quality wise? the Canon EOS Rebel T2i or the Canon Rebel XS?

I used the t2i yesterday and it had amazing picture quality, but I can’t afford the t2i so I’m getting the xs instead and I’m just curious if they picture quality is any better on the t2i?

rob answers:

The T2i will give you *slightly* better image quality than the XS, but in reality you will never see the difference. The biggest factors in image quality are the lens, the lighting, and the skill of the photographer. The camera body is way less important than those.

The XS is an excellent camera, and you’ll have fun with it.

Lizzie asks…

Movie recording stopped automatically on canon rebel t2i?

i have an 16 gb sd card. i imported some clips into the computer but didn’t delete them now it stops automatically?

rob answers:

It will stop when:
A single file reaches 4gb (a little under, max file-size for fat32. This is about 15 min at max res)
The card can not write fast enough-reformat, if persists get a better card.
The camera battery can not support recording-charge battery
And when the card is full.
16gb should give you about 1.5 hours at max res. But if there are photos or old video this will be shortened.

Daniel asks…

I am Buying a new canon rebel t2i and my question is what lens should I buy with it.?

I will be taking pics of my family mostly, but I want to take high quality pics without having to spend
alot of money on a lens. I’m looking to spend around $500 on the lens

rob answers:

Get the 18-55. Keep the rest of the $500 in your savings account until you know what you really want from your main lens.

Mark asks…

What are the main differences between the Canon EOS Rebel t2i and the Canon EOS Rebel t1i?

Other than the fact that the t2i has 18MP and the t1i has 15 (or so) MP, and that there is a price difference of about $150-$200, what are the main differences between these two DSLRs?
Thanks ♥

rob answers:

I own a t1i and as far as I can tell the only real differences are the 3mp that you mentioned and an
external microphone jack. Other than that they’re pretty much the same.

Mary asks…

Can the canon rebel t2i shoot the infrared spectrum?

rob answers:

Any DSLR can shoot in the Infrared spectrum, you just need a filter. This will be good for the T2i
