Does the canon Rebel T3i have selective color mode?
Next month im going to purchase the canon Rebel T3i. From my own experience i found that canon takes crisper pictures. I was the comparing the T3i with the Nikon D5100 and i noticed that that D5100 had selective color mode which i thought was pretty cool. I was just wondering if the canon Rebel T3i offered the same feature.
rob answers:
No, but it is better to do those kinds of color effects in a photo editing program, whether it be converting a photo to B&W, sepia, or doing selective coloring. This is because you can have the original copy of the photo as well as the edited copy just in case.
And here’s program where you can do selective coloring:

It is called GIMP, and it’s essentially a free alternative to Photoshop. And here is the tutorial for selective coloring:

rob answers:
RTFM.
Read the Rebel’s User Manual to learn how to copy it’s video files to your computer.
APP Pro CS 4 uses the “1280×720 60fps NTSC.” format automatically, when you “Open” or “Import” the file. This has nothing to do with “Capturing” anything. Read the CS 4 Help Files for more info.
“And what should I use for a capture format? DV or HDV?”
You get to choose one when you save the finished project, and burn it. So, try both, then decide which format works best for you. Again, “This has nothing to do with “Capturing” anything. Read the CS 4 Help Files for more info.”

Will any canon lens be compatible with my Canon rebel t3i?
Curious as to what lenses will fit, I just got a canon rebel t3i and I am in love with it. I just dont know a ton about lenses etc. PLEASE HELP!!!
rob answers:
Maybe
All current EF and EF-S lenses are usable with your fine 600D/T3i
NONE of the lenses made before 1987, the FD and FL lenses can be use on your camera without an adapter. With the adapter, the lenses will still be fully manual and you will have to manually focus those lenses

Best Close up camera Lens for Canon Rebel T3i?
I want to shoot videos where my Canon Rebel T3i
will automatically focus when I go close up on things.
Whats the best lens for it?

rob answers:
Depends on your budget and exactly what focal length you prefer:
$300 – EF 50mm f/2.5
$450 – EF-S 60mm f/2.8
$530 – EF 100mm f/2.8
$1000 – EF 100mm f/2.8L IS
Those are just rough estimates of the prices I pulled out of my memory, so it’s best to double check them although they should be relatively close.

What is the difference between the Canon Rebel T3i and T2i?
On Canon‘s website they are listed as the same price, and I compared them on the website and it seems to have no differences. Do you know any differences between the models and which one is better?
rob answers:
The main difference is that the t3i has the articulating screen. It allows for some interesting shots. The t3i also comes with a new version of the 18-55mm lens. It also has some in camera filters, aimed at entry level photographers. The t3i has not been released yet, so expect the price of the t2i to drop once the new camera is out.
Personally I would go for the t2i.
